Description
Job Summary
Responsible for installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of electrical power systems for telecom and utility infrastructure projects, with primary focus on DC power systems, including rectifiers, DC chargers, batteries, and UPS systems.
The role also supports AC power integration, panel building, cable routing, and site electrical works while ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, install, and wire DC power systems including rectifiers, DC chargers, battery banks, and UPS systems.
Support integration of AC supply systems feeding telecom and DC infrastructure.
Build, assemble, and wire electrical panels as per approved drawings and layouts.
Lay, route, terminate, gland, and label AC and DC power cables in panels and field installations.
Install cable trays, conduits, trunking, and associated electrical infrastructure.
Install and verify grounding and earthing systems for panels and equipment.
Perform testing and verification using multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, battery testers, and DC load testers.
Conduct fault finding and troubleshooting during installation and commissioning stages.
Maintain proper documentation, tagging, and as-built markups as required.
Coordinate closely with Electrical Engineers and site teams during installation and energization activities.
Comply with site safety rules, isolation procedures, and work in coordination with HSE personnel.
Requirements
Technical & Site Competency
Strong hands-on experience with DC power systems (rectifiers, DCDB, battery banks, UPS).
Practical knowledge of panel wiring, termination, and structured cable routing.
Working knowledge of AC power distribution within telecom or infrastructure environments.
Familiarity with grounding, bonding, and earthing practices.
Ability to read single-line diagrams (SLD), wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
Must be eligible to meet TAQA/TRANSCO utility site competency requirements for working in power & utility regulated environments.
Experience working on TAQA, TRANSCO, or similar UAE utility transmission projects is preferred.
Ability to work in live operational environments with discipline and awareness of electrical hazards.
Qualifications
Diploma / ITI in Electrical Technology or related field.
Strong practical knowledge of telecom power systems is preferred.
UAE driving license preferred.
Experience
4+ years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, panel wiring, and DC power system commissioning.
Experience in telecom, utility, substation, or industrial infrastructure projects is preferred.
Capable of independently executing installation and testing tasks under engineer supervision.
